Become a volunteer and get involved:

  • Meet new people
  • Learn new skills
  • Gain valuable work experience
  • Help others
  • Develop new interests
  • Have fun
  • Be the change, make a difference!

If you are between 12-24 years old, there is a whole range of volunteer opportunities that gives you the chance to change lives, including your own! You can decide which skills and strengths you want to further develop to make volunteerism a stimulating and enriching experience.

Youth In Action

Volunteer West Island works in partnership with public High Schools and all four West Island MNA’s to promote volunteering among young people. The Youth In Action (YIA) Volunteer Challenge recognizes those who become involved in their community.

Participants who complete 40 or more volunteer hours and submit a community service booklet with a brief essay or creative volunteer project about their experience will qualify and will be invited to attend an award ceremony where one winner is chosen per school. The program starts in September and ends mid April every year.
